Role Overview

The Data Engineer – Data Integration position offers an excellent opportunity for early professionals to work on challenging projects that involve designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and infrastructure. As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and play a vital role in supporting data-driven business decisions for IBM’s global clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Ab Initio ETL graphs for data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources into various target systems.
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and build robust data solutions.
  • Build scalable data infrastructure that can handle growing data demands while ensuring performance optimization.
  • Coordinate data access and security protocols to enable seamless access for data scientists and analysts.
  • Conduct data modeling, transformation, and performance tuning for optimized ETL workflows.
  • Utilize various Ab Initio components such as Transform Functions, Rollup, Join, Normalize, and others.
  • Document ETL processes, configurations, and solutions for knowledge sharing and maintenance.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and team discussions to enhance solution quality.

Educational Qualifications

  • Mandatory:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or any equivalent technical field.
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s Degree in relevant fields such as Data Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

Candidates from any graduation stream may apply, provided they possess relevant technical skills in data engineering.

Required Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Ab Initio ETL development.
  • Strong foundation in data modeling, data analysis, and ETL pipeline design.
