Role Overview
As a Software Developer Intern, you will be directly contributing to Odoo’s core product, working on real-time applications, modules, and tools that impact millions of users globally. This is not a typical academic internship — interns are treated as full contributors from day one and are expected to solve real-world problems, write efficient code, and participate in the collaborative development process.
Whether you’re passionate about backend logic, frontend development, system performance, or DevOps — Odoo has something for everyone. The internship begins with a 3-week training program after which interns get to choose from ~15 different teams based on interest and skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Odoo applications across modules.
- Contribute to Odoo’s open-source ecosystem by writing public code on GitHub.
- Work on performance optimization, SaaS tools (like OdooSH), infrastructure automation, and more.
- Engage in collaborative development practices within your team.
- Take ownership of tasks — your code will directly impact Odoo’s global users.
- Explore different domains like app development, frameworks, DevOps, security, and more based on interest.
Skills Required
Must-Have:
- Final year students or recent graduates from B.E (IT/CS), B.Tech, MCA, M.Sc (IT)
- Familiarity with at least one object-oriented programming language
- Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills
- Enthusiasm for software development and learning
- Good command of English (reading/writing)
- Availability for a 6-month full-time internship (5 days/week)
Good to Have:
- Prior contributions to Open Source projects
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
- Hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript
- Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, GitHub, and databases like PostgreSQL
Technical Stack You’ll Work On
- Languages: Python, JavaScript
- Database: PostgreSQL with Odoo’s Object Relational Mapping (ORM)
- Collaboration Tools: GitHub
- Frameworks: Odoo’s internal framework, Workflow Engine, Reporting Tools

Educational Qualification
Eligible candidates should be pursuing or have completed one of the following:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) – IT or Computer Science
- B.Tech – IT or Computer Science
- MCA (Master of Computer Applications)
- M.Sc in Information Technology
Only candidates in their final year of study (2025 batch) or recent pass-outs (2024 batch) are eligible to apply.
Salary / Stipend
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 during the internship period. The internship also opens doors for full-time employment opportunities based on performance, with competitive salary packages.
