A total of approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies are available for posts such as Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO), and DEO Grade ‘A’ in various Central Government Ministries, Departments and Offices.
Eligible candidates who have passed Class 12th can apply online. The online application process started on 07 September 2026, and the last date to submit the application is 07 October 2026.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
For LDC/JSA and Most DEO Posts
Candidates should have passed 12th Class or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
For Certain DEO / DEO Grade ‘A’ Posts
For DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts in the specified departments, candidates must have passed 12th Standard in the Science stream with Mathematics as a subject.
Candidates appearing for their Class 12 examination can also apply, provided their qualifying result is declared on or before 07 October 2026.
Age Limit
The age limit for SSC CHSL Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 27 years as on 01 August 2026.
Candidates should have been born between 02 August 1999 and 01 August 2008, subject to the applicable age-relaxation rules.
Age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per Government of India rules.
Salary
Selected candidates will receive salary according to the applicable 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Levels.

Selection Process
The selection process for SSC CHSL 2026 consists of Tier-I and Tier-II Computer Based Examinations.
Tier-I Examination
Tier-I is an objective-type examination consisting of four sections:

- General Awareness
- Computer Knowledge Test
- Skill Test / Typing Test
Candidates must qualify in all the required sections of Tier-II. The Skill Test/Typing Test is conducted according to the post applied for.
