Job Description
Cognizant is looking for Systems Engineers to join their dynamic team. This role primarily focuses on Service Desk Operations, ensuring IT infrastructure stability and providing technical support to end-users. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and an eagerness to work in a rotational shift model to support global operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide Technical Support: Address and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues for end-users.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Ensure optimal performance and availability of IT infrastructure.
- Installation & Configuration: Assist in setting up and maintaining computer systems, networks, and related components.
- Service Desk Management: Respond to support tickets promptly while ensuring user satisfaction and adherence to SLAs.
- Collaboration: Work alongside IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Documentation: Maintain technical procedures, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs for user reference.
- System Security & Compliance: Follow IT security policies and assist in access management for users.
- Training & Support: Educate users on new software, tools, and system functionalities.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in process enhancement initiatives to improve service desk operations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Any graduate can apply.
- Experience Level: 0-4 years in IT Service Desk or a related field.
- Technical Skills Required:
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware/software issues.
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Familiarity with IT policies, security protocols, and system administration.
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with users.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose technical issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
- CompTIA A+ (Entry-level IT certification for troubleshooting and maintenance)

- Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (Certification for Windows system administration)
