Job Overview:

Capgemini is currently hiring Software Engineers for its Pune location. This role involves working across the full lifecycle of software engineering — from design and development to deployment and maintenance. As a Software Engineer, your core responsibility is to develop, maintain, and optimize innovative software solutions that align with client needs and business goals. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and Solve Problems Scientifically
  Use proven engineering principles to dissect complex problems, research possible solutions, and implement reliable fixes or new builds.
• Software Development & Optimization
  Be involved in hands-on development, testing, and optimization of software products and internal tools. This includes writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code that performs under scale.
• Practice Leadership & Mentorship
  Guide junior engineers and team members, review code, and offer feedback that promotes better software quality and standards.

  Make independent technical decisions based on your understanding of business goals and engineering trade-offs—not just rulebooks. Your voice matters.

  Work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, QA, and Business Analysts to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience:
  Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in software development or engineering roles.
• Education:
  Graduation in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or any other related field.
• Mindset:

  • Eager to innovate and not afraid to think outside the box
  • Capable of organizing your own time and managing mid-term deliverables

Skills Required:

• Programming Concepts: Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
• Languages & Tools: Experience in at least one major programming language (Java, Python, C#, etc.)
• Software Design: Familiar with software development life cycle (SDLC), design patterns, and architecture principles.
• Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to work across teams and stakeholders.
• Team Collaboration: Able to work co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary environment to achieve shared goals.
• Problem-Solving: Apply critical thinking and scientific methods to solve engineering and system-related issues.
