Role Summary
The Associate Analyst – Payroll role is part of Deloitte’s internal finance team. This is a non-client-facing opportunity where you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses basic to advanced Excel skills, and is capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities
- Handle onboarding date updates in the Payroll Dashboard
- Manage employee life cycle changes in records and systems
- Assist in payroll processing, MIS reports, and compensation load activities
- Review onboarding changes for accuracy and completeness
- Process separations, salary continuations, and internal transfers
- Coordinate the collection of dues from separated employees
- Respond to payroll queries from HR or employees
- Ensure accuracy in Full and Final Settlements for exiting employees
- Collaborate with the HR Operations, General Ledger, and Payroll teams
- Identify and escalate anomalies in HR data
- Maintain compliance with PII (Personally Identifiable Information) policies
- Perform all activities within strict timelines and audit-ready frameworks
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
- 0–1 year of relevant payroll/accounting experience OR 0–2 years of work experience in any field
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas, etc.)
- Typing speed: 45–50 WPM; Data entry speed: 7000 keystrokes/hour with <5% error rate
- Familiarity with SAP HR or other payroll systems is a plus
- Good understanding of financial processes and business operations
- Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and communication
- Strong integrity, ethics, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to follow procedures while being flexible in a client-driven environment
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience in payroll or HR data management
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills
