Role Overview – Associate Cybersecurity Engineer (DevOps)
Visa is currently hiring for the position of Associate Cybersecurity Engineer – DevOps for its Bangalore office. This hybrid role combines the fields of cybersecurity and DevOps, offering an opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that power global payment infrastructure.
As part of the Cybersecurity team, you will focus on automating, deploying, monitoring, and securing applications and infrastructure in cloud-native environments. This role is ideal for tech professionals with DevOps experience and a passion for cybersecurity and scalable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily team standups, share timely status updates, and conduct peer code reviews.
- Manage and optimize Kubernetes environments for on-premise and cloud deployments.
- Set up and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Automate operational tasks using Ansible and other configuration management tools.
- Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement observability using Prometheus for metrics and Grafana for dashboard visualizations.
- Create Helm Charts for deploying applications into Kubernetes environments.
- Develop scripts in Python and Bash to streamline and enhance DevOps workflows.
- Handle incident support and coordinate bug reporting, resolution, and code fixes.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure application uptime, security, and performance.
- Utilize AI tools where applicable to improve deployment and automation efficiencies.
Educational Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is acceptable.
- Candidates with 3+ years of equivalent technical experience can also apply.
- While no specific domain is mandatory, a background in Computer Science, IT, or Cybersecurity is a strong plus.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and Docker.
- Familiarity with DevOps monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentbit, and Alertmanager.
- Knowledge of Kafka and Opensearch/Elasticsearch is desirable.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and deployment strategies.
- Practical experience with public cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to Generative AI tools or interest in applying AI to automate operations is a valuable addition.
